What can I expect when I visit?

When you come to Richland Food Pantry, we want you to feel at ease. Our motto is “Take what you need, but please consider other families also visiting today.” You’ll be able to choose items from our shelves to fit your needs, just like a regular shopping trip. While we do set household limits per visit, we ask everyone to take only what they need so there’s enough for all.

What are household limits?

To make sure everyone gets what they need, we have a guide with grocery limits based on household size, using a simple point system. When you visit, we’ll give you a printed guide, but you’re also welcome to download it in advance by choosing the guide for your household size below.

Household Size 1-2 People

Household Size 3-4 People

Household Size 5-6 People

Household Size 7-8 People

How does the point system work?

Points are assigned based on household size. For instance, a family of 5-6 people receives 50 points to use for selecting pantry items. Everything is free when visiting the RFP; however, some items cost points while others do not. A full breakdown of points and guidelines can be found in the guide above.
